• Austin's reputation is earned. The city has a long history as a hub for the LGBTQ+ community, with visible community life, annual celebrations, and affirming institutions across the metro.
• Community exists everywhere here, not in one corner. Families and individuals build full, connected lives throughout the region, from the close-in core to the suburbs and the Hill Country.

• Family-building and support: the metro has affirming healthcare providers, family organizations, and parent networks that support LGBTQ+ families through every stage.
• Schools are yours to research. As with every family we serve, we do not rank areas by schools. We will point you to the districts and the Texas Education Agency so you can evaluate campuses and their climate yourself, per address.
• Youth support: organizations focused on LGBTQ+ youth offer community and resources for kids and teens, which many relocating parents find reassuring.
• Connection for the whole family: the same advice that helps anyone settle in applies here, and it works. Get involved early, say yes to invitations, and community forms fast.
